Open/Closed

Pierre Piton takes dissonant states of the body to the extreme and shows a dance full of duality on the edge of dystopia in "Open/Closed". Stretched posture, precarious balance, trembling and in a fluid relationship with walls and floor: Pierre takes up the challenge of the horizontality and verticality of the planes, the inside and outside of the body. This choreographic exploration is accompanied by organic and disturbing sounds - each sound is played and interpreted live by Simone Aubert - and weaves a fine thread between power and vulnerability. In this complex interplay of light, sounds and odours, the space becomes a living organism. The boundaries of the self disappear to make way for an experience in which the body meets that of the other and is understood as a continuum that connects past and future organisms.

Trigger warning: strobe lighting is used in this performance.
