Blackout – A Divine Comedy
Where do three mortal musicians end up when a system error prevents them from reaching the afterlife? What lies behind the curtain, and what are the staff’s musical tastes? What does Zeus hope to learn during his work placement in heaven, and what on earth is this ‘voucher for dying once’ all about?
In their tenth stage show, Jacqueline Bernard, Mia Schultz and Simone Schranz find themselves face to face with the heroes and heroines of ancient Greece, whom everyone thought were dead. Directed by Oliver Stein, the musicians explore Mount Olympus. And the question of all questions looms large: was it a one-way ticket, or is there a multi-journey pass across the border river to the underworld?
Music, music, music – even after more than 20 years, the three musicians have not run out of musical ideas. On the contrary: their own compositions and those of others, chansons and rap, klezmer pieces and pop songs – arranged with their usual originality – are what make the evening complete. Loyal siJamais fans will occasionally recall the adventures they shared during the theatre trilogy (the last three programmes by siJamais).
