Don’t be afraid of old scripts – Advanced course

Anyone wishing to read older documents written in German cursive script often finds it quite a struggle – even with some prior knowledge. In this advanced course, we aim to practise deciphering difficult handwriting and tackle some ‘tough nuts’ together; the focus is on older texts (17th and 18th centuries). Basic knowledge of reading cursive script (e.g. from the basic course) is required.

Places are limited – please register. If a course is already fully booked, please feel free to join the waiting list – places often become available at short notice. There are no course fees.

For ZB events (guided tours, courses, lectures), audio aids (including induction loops for hearing aids) are available for people with hearing impairments. If required, please contact kommunikation@zb.uzh.ch.
