Guided tour of the exhibition ‘Fantastic Maps for Legendary Stories’

A journey of discovery through fantastical worlds

What links Middle-earth with Switzerland? How do myths, fairy tales and historical maps give rise to new fantastical worlds? And what stories lie behind maps from literature, games and film?

On our public guided tour of ‘Fantastic Maps for Legendary Stories’, you’ll embark on a journey between reality and fiction. The tour is led by a member of the curatorial team, who will provide fascinating insights into the creation of the exhibition and explain the background to selected exhibits. Discover surprising connections, extraordinary rarities and the fascinating world of (imaginary) cartography – from early depictions of the world to Tolkien, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and Dungeons & Dragons.

Do come along – the next fantastical world is just a map away.

As places are limited, please book in advance. Participation is free of charge.
