E.T.A. Hoffmann: ‘The Sandman’ – A delight to read
Including a visit to a rehearsal at the Schauspielhaus Zürich
Many people are familiar with the character of the Sandman from their childhood. However, E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story opens up a multi-layered world between reality and fantasy that continues to fascinate to this day. In this seminar, we will be exploring one of the best-known stories of German Romanticism. A visit to a rehearsal at the Schauspielhaus Zürich will complement our group reading and provide insights into the theatrical adaptation of literary works.
