7th Arab Film Festival Zurich
New horizons of Arab cinema
Arab cinema is diverse and deals with the different realities in this cultural region. Arab women in particular like to use film as a means of expression for their concerns, be it to point out grievances in patriarchal societies or to create utopias. Most of the films can be seen as Swiss German premieres, some even as European premieres, and several are subtitled in German. This festival edition also focuses on Sudan and Saudi Arabia and expands the programme spectrum to include animation and VR productions. Numerous guests will present their films and offer the opportunity for cultural exchange.
