Martin Lechner is literally a natural talent. Without ever having taken a single singing lesson, he interprets jazz classics with his characterful voice, giving the songs a convincing originality. Martin Lechner & Band combine the style of the 50s with elements of modernity, so that something new emerges from tradition. Sometimes drenched in melancholy and yearning as in the jazz classic "My Funny Valentine", then again disarmingly groovy and exhilarating as in the Fugees classic "Ready Or Not": Lechner's well-rehearsed jazz quartet acts variably, multi-facetedly and with a large portion of humanity and warmth in its arrangements.
