Sonic frescoes full of vastness and a mysterious atmosphere
Daniel Hernandez began studying classical piano at the Fribourg Conservatoire at the age of 7. As the winner of the Soto Prize in 2018, he went on to complete a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance at the Bern University of the Arts in 2023. He is the winner of the 2021 Friedl Wald Foundation Prize. Whether contemporary jazz, experimental music, Afrobeat, hip-hop or funk – Daniel Hernandez moves confidently between genres, using them to develop his own distinctive musical style. In spring 2026, his first solo album, “Pure Land”, was released on Unit Records.
