No gravel square in the city is as authentic as that of the Kanzleiareal in hectic Kreis 4, where the Xenix cinema and the Xenix bar are located. A home for films, a space for cineastic discoveries and carefully curated programmes, for discussions ...

Comrades (1970)
Sergio Corbucci, Italy/Spain/West Germany 1970
The greedy General Mongo (José Bódalo) exploits the revolution to plunder the Mexican village of San Bernardino. Then ‘the Swede’ (Franco Nero) turns up and teams up with the Basque (Tomás Milián) to get his hands on some money. To this end, they free the peaceful revolutionary leader Professor Xantos (Fernando Rey) and plan to bring down the unscrupulous general. But a clever hitman and his falcon stand in their way.
For this Zapata Western, Sergio Corbucci has assembled a star-studded cast who really pull out all the stops and are given complete creative freedom to perform. There are also elaborate action sequences and, as always, a healthy dose of cynicism.
“Passionate storytelling, a love of detail – Sergio Corbucci has once again completely won me over. And if you also want to hear one of the best songs in cinema history, written by the master Ennio Morricone himself, then there’s simply no getting round this little Western gem.” (Philippe Paturel, cinemaforever.net)
