Composer Jazz Orchestra
Plays the music of Victor Decamp
Founded in 2024 on the initiative of Jonathan Salvi, the Composer Jazz Orchestra is set to release its second album in 2026, which will focus on the music of trombonist Victor Decamp. The Composer Jazz Orchestra breathes like a living organism: eleven cells, connected by the same breath, united in pulsation and vibration. Each musician is an independent voice, yet together they form a multicellular, fluid and ever-changing entity that continually reinvents itself through compositions and moments of improvisation.
From this living matter emerges a contemporary jazz, nourished by modern harmonies and organic grooves. Victor Decamp’s music flows like a life force from one cell to another, creating soundscapes that are at times luminous, at times abysmal. It is an expanding soundscape that reinvents its own language with every beat and every resonance.
ZHdK students enjoy free admission on presentation of a valid student ID.
