The Song of the Lost Treasures

A musical and theatrical journey of discovery by NIE Theatre | Ages 6+

Loss | Memory | Strong Emotions

Where do we humans come from? And where has everything that’s gone disappeared to? What do the things that are no longer with us talk about? ‘The Song of Lost Treasures’ invites children aged 6 and over, as well as adults, on a poetic journey between dream and reality. The actors and musicians of the international NIE Theatre whisk young and old alike away to a place somewhere between dream and reality, between what was and is now gone, and what is. The audience sits on both sides of the stage and is immersed in a magical world filled with live music, a vibrant sense of life and humour.

The New International Encounter (NIE) is an international theatre company that produces award-winning performances and projects, utilising a blend of physical theatre, multiple languages, live music and storytelling. It has branches in Asker (Norway), Prague (Czech Republic) and Cambridge (UK).

Alongside the performance, the ‘Junge Foyer’ programme takes place for children aged 2 to 5. Whilst the older children attend the performance, the younger ones can take part in the interactive programme in the ‘Junge Foyer’. On 31 January, there will be an acrobatics workshop with the artist Luisa Schmitz.
