THE GENTLE ONE
The strange story of Daniel Imwasser.
Daniel Imwasser is a friendly person. And that, in fact, is precisely where the problem lies.
Daniel Imwasser wants to help. And because you can’t help every single person individually, he starts to organise things a little. First, just the room. Then the people present. Then the things that don’t quite fit in.
Everything happens gently and calmly, sensibly and with the utmost courtesy. No one is shouted at. No one is threatened. There are even almonds.
People listen to him, perhaps even smile, and think: it can’t be that bad.
And that is usually the very moment that someone will later say: that’s when it all began.
THE GENTLE ONE is a polite grotesque about order, good intentions and the reassuring art of finding almost everything not half as bad as it seems. As long as it’s said in a friendly enough way.
At first, it’s very funny. Later on, actually, it still is. Just for different reasons.
