The world of acoustic blues guitar
Learn what it takes to make a guitar sound like "blues". 8x from 31 March 2026
In this course, Rainer Wöffler will show you the various techniques needed to make a guitar sound like "blues". These include "blue notes", seventh chords, thumb bass with the right hand, and the special sense of rhythm that characterises blues and ragtime. Open tunings and slide guitar contribute to the special sound and make this music very versatile.
Please bring: guitar, tuner, writing materials. Knowledge of music notation is not required, but recording devices are expressly desired and useful.
