DORNRÖSLI

With *Dornrösli*, the NI&CO Theatre brings a reimagined version of the well-known Grimm fairy tale to the stage. Set in a Swiss German version, the story centres on a strong, young girl who finds her own path to self-determination, navigating the world between the castle and the wilderness. Humorous, touching and full of surprising twists, the story is retold, with the hundred-year sleep serving as a metaphor for personal growth, courage and trust in one’s own pace. The performance takes place against the unique natural backdrop of the Sihlwald, where the forest itself becomes part of the action. Wind, light and sounds merge with music, costumes and characters to create an intense open-air experience. The result is a contemporary fairy tale full of poetry and magic.
