Eat Me Now!
Arlette Dellers
What do you find sexy? Which bodies, actions or images do you find attractive - and why? What view do you take? Who is the subject of lust at this moment - and who is perceived as an object for their satisfaction? Did you ask?
«EAT ME NOW!» by FLUX Crew deals with the objectification of female-read and queer bodies: How can these power mechanisms be uncovered? How are they reinforced by the fetishisation or devaluation of lesbian sexuality? And how could a Lesbain Gaze be developed that creates an alternative image of sexiness and tenderness?
Five queer dancers with different movement backgrounds from contemporary dance, breaking, dancehall, afro, hip hop and swimming try together to unravel and ultimately transform western patriarchal ideas of sexuality and hotness.
On Friday, 25 May, there will be a Q&A after the performance that will take place in Nordflügel at Gessnerallee. Take the opportunity to find out more about the artists, their working methods and the themes explored in «Eat Me Now!».
The discussion will be moderated by Muriel Waeger from LOS, the national umbrella organisation for lesbians, bisexuals and queer women in Switzerland, and will be held in German und Swiss German spoken language
The conversation will last around 60 minutes. Participation is free of charge and no registration is required.
