‘Eimi goes for a swim’ – A nursery teacher’s musings
By and starring Vivianne Mösli
This humorous and twist-filled monologue with music tells the story of constantly swimming through life – sometimes calmly, sometimes with one’s last ounce of strength.
We’ve all been there: that feeling of not knowing which way is up. One thought chases the next. Peace of mind just won’t come, even though we long for it so much. Eimi feels exactly the same. The nursery teacher simply wants to tell a story – the story of Rosi, the little rabbit, and her nightmares – but the thread of her narrative keeps slipping away from her, time and time again. And so she takes us on a rollercoaster ride through her mind and body. It’s both touching and funny.
The Aargau-based actress Vivianne Mösli has tailored Eimi’s monologue to her own style in Bernese German and brings the character to life with subtle, precise acting. At her side, as the second voice, is the musician Christoph Gantert. He weaves together and contrasts Eimi’s rollercoaster ride with his instruments and, at times, with a squeaky rubber duck.
