An imbalance has crept into an increasingly toxic relationship. Growing up in a male-only flat-share in Berlin leaves more than just the girl reeling. And did the acclaimed newcomer really write her poems herself? Monika Schärer hosts this evening’s programme, which centres on deception and turmoil.
In *Unwucht*, Sarah Elena Müller tells the story of Alice and Rio, who loses himself in criminal activities fuelled by his drug addiction. Seven years later, Alice stands at Rio’s door. She wants to make sense of her story.
Lale, too, wants to understand. She grows up in the 1980s in a Berlin men’s commune, where parties are held and revolutions planned. Lale longs for security, whilst her boundaries are being crossed. Caught between freedom and neglect, she searches for her path in Lilli Tollkien’s debut novel *Mit beiden Händen den Himmel stützen* and stumbles on the fringes.
Emma Rodenstock is a phenomenon. Everyone is clamouring for the poet’s attention. She gives a face to the debate on classism and privilege. Until Nazanin Esfahani, an up-and-coming journalist, uncovers a discrepancy in her story. In *Die Dichterin*, Özge İnan dissects more than just the literary scene.
