Family Concert – Chaos in the Kingdom of Organum
A playful journey of discovery into the fascinating world of the organ
‘Chaos in the Kingdom of Organum’ invites young and old alike on a playful journey of discovery into the fascinating world of the organ. Through the story, children and adults learn about the structure and workings of the organ: stops, manuals, pipe families and the wind mechanism are explained both audibly and visually. In the process, visitors discover just how versatile and unique the sound of each organ is.
The programme begins with the storyteller narrating the tale on stage. This is followed by a joint exploration and explanation of the organ – featuring music from different eras, plenty of sound samples and opportunities to get involved. The entire programme lasts no more than one hour.
