After-work snack: Serpentinite – green, smooth, mysterious
The green ‘snake stones’ bear witness to geological processes: continents shift, ocean floors split open and mountain ranges are formed. Discover the stories this rock tells, from its formation deep within the Earth’s mantle to its transformation on the ocean floor. Why do we find it today in the heart of our Alps?
After our journey back in time to the geological past, it’s time to return to the present and raise a glass! Over a thematically appropriate drink, we’ll continue our discussion in a relaxed atmosphere and let the geological processes continue to resonate with us. Shall we discover this mysterious rock on a short geological excursion to the bar?
The next ‘After-Work Snack’ event will take place on Tuesday, 8 December 2026, with the theme ‘Of chicken birds and human cackling…’.
The meeting point is in the foyer. Drinks are not included in the museum admission price. The guided tour of the museum lasts 30 minutes, after which we’ll head for drinks.
