Closing event for the ‘Shimmering Bubbles’ exhibition

Open House from 1.00 pm
2.00 pm Discussion

‘Suddenly, all these fears were there’ – in his graphic novel *Learning to Fear* (2023), comic artist Nando von Arb explores both personal and universal experiences of fear. They come in one’s sleep, lurk in memories and take on different faces, colours and forms. In conversation with Julia Marti, co-publisher at Edition Moderne, Nando von Arb discusses the creation of the graphic novel and how drawing became a refuge for him.

Nando von Arb (*1992) lives and works in Zurich. He is a trained graphic designer and illustrator. His second book, *Fürchten lernen* (Learning to Fear), which forms the centrepiece of the exhibition *Schillernde Blasen* (Dazzling Bubbles), was awarded the prestigious Max und Moritz Prize for the best German-language comic at the 2024 Erlangen Comic Salon. He is currently working on his third book.

Viewing of the exhibition before and after the talk, followed by drinks. Free admission.
