"Glacier" by Maxi Obexer: inspiration, reality and the glacier landscape

Together with Julie Paucker, the author talks about her work "Gletscher" as part of the extract exhibition "Entgletscherung - Die Vermessung des Eises".

Maxi Obexer is a theatre author and writer based in Berlin. Born and raised in South Tyrol, she studied comparative literature, philosophy and theatre studies in Vienna and Berlin and was a visiting professor at various US and German universities. Her oeuvre includes novels, essays and radio plays, as well as around 20 theatre plays, many of which have won awards, been translated into several languages and staged worldwide. Her latest theatre play and radio play "In the Eye of the Storm. Das Kapitol im Januar 2021" was Radio Play of the Year 2024.

The author is presenting her work "Gletscher" at ETH Zurich as part of the exhibition "Entgletscherung - Die Vermessung des Eises". In conversation with Julie Paucker, Maxi Obexer talks to the audience about her inspiration, glacier shrinkage and the true story behind the radio play.
