The performance combines music, drama, craftsmanship and cooking into a poetic exploration of the five elements of Chinese philosophy: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. As Wen Chin Fu and Kevin Toksöz Fairbairn build, play and modify unusual instruments live on stage using materials such as sugar, sheet metal and strings, fascinating new soundscapes emerge. The elements appear as distinct characters, telling a story of creativity, inventiveness and their interplay.
