A Journey into Astrology
Symbols – Zodiac – Constellations
Acrylic paintings and calendars by Sue Spinnler

Astronomy uses the term ‘Zodiac’ to refer to the zone in the sky through which the Sun, Moon and planets move.
It divides the Sun’s path into 12 constellations. These often take the form of animals or symbols.

Astrology adopts these 12 sections as zodiac signs. At every birth, one asks: How were the stars positioned in relation to the Sun at that time? Since the birth of my grandchildren, I have been exploring the signs. I decided to paint 12 acrylic paintings featuring the corresponding constellations, animals and symbols.
This led to a light-hearted exploration of astrology.

The paintings are not strictly astrological, but are depicted artistically. Individual copies are available for purchase in 80 x 80 or 20 x 20 format. The originals are sold as a set only.
