InterFolk and Kapelle Mathi Landtwing

Contemporary and traditional folk music

Ländler music | Central Switzerland | International

The final concert in the ‘Heimatklänge’ series will once again be both contemporary and deeply traditional. The InterFolk trio consists of three female musicians who all grew up with traditional folk music. Armed with this background, they have set out to explore new paths. InterFolk demonstrates just how diverse folk music can be, and how the old can be combined with the new. Their repertoire includes original compositions as well as music penned by their musical forebears.

They have invited the Zug-based clarinettist Mathias Landtwing as a guest, along with his traditional ensemble, Kapelle Mathi Landtwing. This ensemble is dedicated to refined, traditional and concert-style Ländler music in the Central Swiss style and is committed to preserving this musical heritage. Their repertoire encompasses a wide selection of significant and style-defining Ländler pieces, ranging from Kasi Geisser to Jost Ribary and the Kapelle Heirassa, right through to Fritz Dünner and Carlo Brunner. This musical ethos is underscored by the classic Central Swiss line-up of clarinet, accordion, piano and double bass.

Accordionist Andrea Ulrich from Schwyz plays in both groups. She is one of Switzerland’s finest accordionists. Both top-class ensembles promise a varied and enjoyable concert to round off the 2026/27 Heimatklänge season.
