“Who ever said that life is serious, difficult or hard? In reality, it is a colourful playground where airy, light flowers of joy and happiness grow.” Hasn’t the new era long since been ushered in, and the baggage of times gone by cast aside? Isn’t the new, the ‘now’, with all its richness and beauty, nothing but a celebration of life? Simply wake up, live, step out of the dream and into reality – that is what the poems encourage us to do. The simple truth is: we have never left the land of milk and honey.

Iris Gold vividly describes her idyllic life during her time in Italy using unusual neologisms and ‘cluster thinking’ constructions that evoke a synaesthetic effect.

Iris Gold, born in Canada, is an actress, voice-over artist, speech coach and author. She studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and subsequently trained as a voice coach in London. After several years working internationally, she is now a lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts and works as a voice-over artist.

Julia Jentsch, born in Berlin, is an actress in film, theatre and television and is one of Germany’s most renowned actresses. She studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. She began her career in theatre at the Münchner Kammerspiele and in film with *Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei*. Her most recent cinema appearance was in the film *Was Marielle weiss*, and she was last seen on television in the series *Der Pass* and *Drunter und Drüber*.
