Jazz at the Stadtkeller – Jaccard & Ruosch

Through their in-depth exploration of the African-American musical tradition and their many years of performing both at home and abroad, the Zurich-based singer Christina Jaccard and pianist David Ruosch have established themselves as an expressive duo. Their musical partnership combines stylistic sophistication with earthy blues, the depth of gospel and the elegance of jazz. Eleven joint recordings bear witness to their long-standing musical collaboration. In 2012, they were honoured with the Swiss Jazz Award.

Their programme is a musically mature homage to the blues tradition of the past century. With a keen sense of stylistic nuances and a captivating zest for performance, Jaccard & Ruosch navigate between lyrical, passionate blues, rousing rhythm and blues, and virtuoso boogie-woogie.
