Emilien Truche (D)
A musician is practicing at the piano. Suddenly a wanderer appears: he has a lion's hunger. The music of the piano fills the whole room and something strange happens. The wanderer eats like a lion. Gradually, other animals make their presence felt: Chicken feathers, turtle cancan and birds chirping: all the animals disturb this human's peace... or maybe it's the other way around?
"Carnival of the Animals" is a scenic concert, based on Camille Saint-Saeen's music from 1886, humorously and profoundly questioning our relationship both with the animal world and with our own animal side. The puppeteer Emilien Truche is accompanied by Michael Sattelberger, who interprets the "Carnival" live on the piano.
