Katharina Rilling ● Lovely King Walter

His fiancée, whom he has never touched. They have been writing to each other for months. Night after night. Day after day. On the screen, she is close to him; with her, he will make a fresh start. As a lover, as a provider, as a man who matters. At last she wants to come to him – soon.

He gets himself ready. At the remote Valcruna spa hotel, he waits for her arrival. Time blurs between mountain peaks and mobile dead zones, red wine and Viagra, new acquaintances and old loneliness. Walter’s waiting turns into a frenzy. Mishaps pile up. And doubts come to the fore: about the woman, about himself, about his own perception. Is she really coming? Is she real? Yet the waiting is only the beginning.

Katharina Rilling, born in Tübingen in 1983, grew up in Ingelheim am Rhein, and has lived in Switzerland since 2002.
