Lembe Lokk’ Secret Chord Trio
Pâqu'son 2024 Easter Music Festival
The Songs of Leonard Cohen
Lembe Lokk: vocals, guitar
Michel Schick: clarinet, ukulele, blue harp
François Puyalto: eBass
The Easter festival journey holds many surprises - it can wrap itself around the "secret chords" of the master Cohen, for example, as with Estonian singer Lembe Lokk.
You don't have to reinvent Leonard Cohen's songs. But you can dress them up in a new way. The international trio, named after a famous line by the Canadian singer-songwriter, does this with very few strokes, with a lonely clarinet here and a teasing electric bass there. The minimalist arrangement miraculously reveals the power of the pieces, allowing them to be experienced and enjoyed anew. Yes, even the long-grey Susanne is given a fresh colour by Lembe Lokk's Secret Chord Trio.
