‘Lüdi sings to the machine’

In his new play, Lüdi continues to celebrate – now more than ever – the machine age in which we live. From the toaster and the lawnmower right through to artificial intelligence – all magnificent conveniences brought about by engineering, yet ones which are in the process of destroying the very foundations of our natural way of life. Lüdi packages all this into a kind of conciliatory indictment, in which he traces the history of the Swiss mindset since the Industrial Revolution. So Lüdi’s poor audience has quite a lot to look forward to, but don’t worry: Lüdi achieves transcendence through irony. He gives his all to entertain, amuse and comfort his audience! Text, direction, performance, set design: Andres Lutz; Music: Roland Widmer; Video: Jessie Fischer. Co-production: Fabriktheater Rote Fabrik Zurich.
