Luna Mahoux: Stars Will Light A Way
Solo exhibition
Exhibition tour with curator Annette Amberg:
Thursday, 26.10.23 at 18.30
Thursday, 27.11.23 at 18.30pm
Since her youth, Belgian artist Luna Mahoux (b. 1996) has been scouring the internet to explore the lives and experiences of Black people in the African diaspora. She collects screenshots and video clips from social networks and keeps them in a constantly growing archive. The fleeting and low-resolution images document the popular culture of the last 15 years and thus become testimonies of a constantly changing society. For the exhibition Stars Will Light A Way, Luna Mahoux bundles, edits and comments on the contents and presents them in the form of large-format photographs, video works and objects in the exhibition space. The works question the capitalist appropriation of all cultural phenomena as well as reflecting on the forms and meaning of belonging and resistance in the black community.
The exhibition is a reflection of this.
