Mercedes Rosende – The Mafia and Crime in Montevideo

Ursula López is on the run, with millions in her luggage. She has shaken off the tenacious inspector who was hot on her heels, as well as the crooks who were trying to steal the money from her. The dream of a villa in Montevideo’s upmarket neighbourhood seems within reach – and well-deserved; after all, the discontented, overweight fifty-year-old had never enjoyed any success in her role as a law-abiding citizen.

But as Ursula assumes the identity of the wrong person, she suddenly notices a new pursuer: a dark beard, metal-framed glasses, a malicious expression – isn’t that the mafioso who escaped from prison and is haunting all the news reports? It is too late when Ursula realises what a criminal’s footsteps she has stepped into.

Marina Villa conducts the interview in Spanish and summarises the translation into German. German voice: Elena Mpintis.
