Modern Jazz Band-Workshop
8-part course starting on Thursday 27 August 2026, 8.30–10.00 pm
In this course, we will be playing music from 1950 onwards by artists such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard and Chick Corea.
The focus will be on improvisation and the arrangement of the pieces. Each participant will contribute their own solo, allowing them to add their ‘own touch’ to the pieces.
Basic proficiency on the instrument, the ability to read music and experience in improvisation are required.
The course is open to all instrumentalists: piano, bass, drums (with experience in a band setting), percussion, guitar, wind and string instruments.
