No, no, no

“We are not one and the same person. We are possibilities, perspectives on a radical journey of self-discovery.”

Nora has left her family and vanished without a trace. Her friends, neighbours and acquaintances are horrified. How can a mother simply abandon her children from one day to the next? Three women, each more different from the other, search for reasons and realise that they are more like Nora than they would care to admit.

What Ibsen explored 140 years ago through the character of Nora has taken on a new urgency: how does the modern ‘1,000-options’ society deal with the realisation that we are still a long way from an equal distribution of roles? What happens when a woman takes stock of her life and dares to make a fresh start? NORA NORA NORA explores the tension between a haven of comfort, powerlessness, justice and appreciation. Three women come together and grapple with their own aspirations, expectations and possibilities. Their individual positions, relationships and perspectives on their own lives are put to the test. Is the new normal an opportunity for a new division of roles? And if so: what are we prepared to give up for it?
