Ofelia Jarl Ortega, The Field: Calling

In Calling, three characters orbit each other with equal parts suspicion and fascination. They have been doing this for some time. Their bodies move attracting and repelling, away and back towards each other, sometimes with pleasure, then with disgust.

Always circling and circling, advancing and retreating, away and towards, closer and then further away. They don't know what's at stake, what it would mean to break the status quo or the rhythm of their patterns. They can't stay in this limbo much longer and soon their curiosity will get the better of them...

In Calling, choreographer Ofelia Jarl Ortega explores the power relations within The Field collective. The dynamics are revealed in all their complexity through choreographic games and playful scenarios. The performers offer themselves to each other to be used, devalued or idolised, teased or satisfied.
