ORGinelle: Poetry Slam x Organ
Poetry slam meets the organ: texts, improvisation and spontaneous reactions in direct dialogue.
ORGinelle is a concert series that opens up new spaces for the organ. Usually confined to church interiors and concert halls, here it steps out into the open: into unfamiliar settings, to new audiences, and into direct dialogue with art forms it rarely encounters. Each instalment puts the organ to a new test – coming soon: the poetry slam.
An evening in which the organ is not merely an accompaniment, but a counterpoint. An evening where a poetry slam text meets a stop change like a punchline meets its trigger – and no one knows in advance who will react first. Between word and wind, something emerges on this evening that cannot be repeated exactly the same way a second time.
Rainer Holl (Leipzig) is one of the most experienced stage poets in the German-speaking world: on stage since 2009, with over 1,000 performances to his name, and runner-up in the German-language Poetry Slam Championship. His texts combine incisiveness with humour, spontaneity and an unerring feel for the audience.
Daniela Dill (Basel) is a spoken-word artist, author and cultural educator. She has been performing on poetry slam and spoken-word stages since 2007 and is also active as an organiser. She is a member of the spoken-word band DILL & KRAUT and, together with Dominik Muheim, runs the reading stage ‘Gschichte vom Miststock’ in Sissach.
Skog Ogvann (Leipzig), twice Thuringian Poetry Slam Champion (2016, 2018), combines poetry with often dark humour – offering a unique perspective on life’s absurdities.
On the organ: Zrinka Durut – organist and pianist with a passion for taking the organ beyond its classical confines. She improvises live to the texts: reacting, contrasting, supporting, falling silent – a second voice in the room.
