Peter Gisler ● Diego’s Disappearance

In his new book, Peter Gisler tells the story of Tom and Diego’s disappearance.

One fateful night changes Tom’s life forever: whilst drunk, he gets into a fight with his rival Diego. When he comes round the next morning, he can no longer tell the difference between memory and dream. Diego has vanished without a trace. Did he kill him and sink his body in the deep waters of the lake?

Driven by agonising uncertainty, Tom turns his life on its head. He starts his own business early on, catches up on his education, finds success, and works – first with enthusiasm, then to the point of self-exploitation. After suffering a burnout, he moves to Berlin to find himself; yet even in a foreign land, Diego won’t let him go. As a revenant, he crosses Tom’s path time and again. Until, years later, he returns to the lake. To the place where it all began – and where the demons of the past await him.

The book is published by Zytglogge Verlag.
