Polifon Pervers

In a quiet little town in Switzerland, something astonishing is happening: no sooner have they set up their association, Polifon Pervers, than Sabin and Schanti are shaking up the cultural scene with a new vision of ‘Onderhaltig’. Taking risks and acting shrewdly, they rise to become national figures as theatre producers and gather an illustrious circle around them. As the story unfolds, the ‘Onderhaltig’ association subordinates everything to success, and so the initial shenanigans are soon followed by all manner of fraud.

In his second novel, Béla Rothenbühler continues the tradition of the picaresque novel – for once featuring female con artists and written in Lucerne German. His ironic and satirical thought experiment on culture, entertainment and money is itself a great work of entertainment art.
