Rabih Abou-Khalil

Rabih Abou-Khalil is a sonic adventurer of a kind that world music rarely produces. For decades, the Lebanese oud virtuoso has been blending Arab tradition, European classical music and improvised jazz into a highly complex, sensual and profoundly original musical language, always transcending passing fashions. A five-time winner of the German Jazz Award and honoured for his life’s work, Abou-Khalil ranks among the most influential cross-genre artists in his field. In the unique acoustics of the wonderful musical oasis that is Neumünster Church, his music unfolds a fascinating effect all of its own: virtuosic, profound and full of energy. A concert experience for those who love to discover new things.
