Tour of the Museum Haus C.G. Jung

The tour of the Museum Haus C.G. Jung introduces visitors to the working and family life of Carl Gustav and Emma Jung-Rauschenbach and their children. Representative rooms, library and study rooms as well as private rooms not only provide an insight into the sphere of activity of the couple, they also tell of the family's preferences, interests, leisure pursuits and, in general, of the living conditions at that time.

The lower floor is primarily devoted to the everyday life of the Jung family. This is where they spent their time together with the children; the usual daily routine took place in these rooms. Meals were eaten in the large dining room, coffee was served in the salon, people played together, talked and C.G. Jung received his guests from all over the world with a view of the lake. The veranda provides a view of the well-tended ornamental and landscaped garden, and mementos recall Jung's distant travels and expeditions.

On the upper floor are the work and study rooms. C.G. Jung's extensive library is presented untouched in its original state. It is a testament to the scholar's extraordinary erudition and his equally broad and profound research interests. The entire book collection of the library is owned, preserved and administered by the Foundation of the Works of C.G. Jung, Zurich. The waiting room for Jung's private clientele could be largely reconstructed. Here he received his patients and led them to the adjacent study. This cabinet has also been authentically preserved, showing C.G. Jung's work table as if he had just left it for a brief moment.
