Shine on, you crazy diamond!

Are we our bodies?

Three people meet in the overgrown garden of a peculiar clinic. A place where any change seems possible, a place where they can finally become what they have long wanted to be. Outward appearances are negotiable and changeable. For the world is a world of surfaces. But what happens to the core? And what happens when someone suddenly learns to love that little, crazy diamond inside, just like that?

In her new play SCHEIN, DU CRAZY DIAMANT!, a sung piece for three characters and a loudspeaker, Martina Clavadetscher explores the extent to which our physicality and our forms shape our identity. And whether beauty isn’t a delicate secret, hidden somewhere beneath the surface – ready to be discovered at any moment.
