The E-Music Department of the City of Zurich organises two concert series of its own: In the Musikpodium, mainly works by Swiss composers are performed. During the summer break, the popular Serenades are held in the park of the Villa Schönberg.
OTTO Vocal Ensemble: Urziit
HEUTE IM PARK
The vocal ensemble OTTO combines Nordic expansiveness, folk song tradition and contemporary musical language for the atmospheric evening “Urziit”. The Earth has been changing since time immemorial – but particularly rapidly since the emergence of humankind. What can we learn from “Urziit” and how do we see ourselves as part of nature, within the ever-turning wheel of time? Works by Caroline Shaw, Veljo Tormis, Ola Gjeilo, Hildegard von Bingen and Karin Rehnqvist meet folk melodies and Swiss choral literature – an evening of voices that get under your skin.
Alma Pfister, Lena Beber, Rosa Spycher, Leandra Nussbaumer, Deborah Züger, Onna Stäheli, Johanna Rademacher, Elena Schneider – vocals
Carla Keller – cello
