Beginnings can sometimes be as abrupt as endings. This story begins with an ending.
Whilst the protagonist, having witnessed a fatal accident, waits at the police station for words that might help her make sense of what has happened, her thoughts keep wandering: to memories of everyday scenes and existential experiences, to farewells, to the unspoken, to unhatched chicks or a dead fish’s heart that beats once more … In between, endless summers and the fragile life that continues undeterred in the midst of everyday existence.
A graphic novel about holding on, letting go and remembering. About the moment when one realises that everything is fleeting, and the impossibility of understanding life — and the persistent attempt to tell its story nonetheless.
