Sven Beckert: CAPITALISM

Capitalism has turned life on its head all over the world – economically, socially and environmentally.
Our guest, Sven Beckert, has rewritten the history of this economic and social system. In his monumental work *Capitalism: A History of a Global Revolution*, this internationally renowned historian describes how colonialism, exploitation and economic progress are intertwined, and how capitalists have been trading in all parts of the world for a thousand years.
Only by grasping the history of capitalism can we make sense of the turmoil in which we currently find ourselves and reshape our future.
