Swiss Female Composers Festival
Female composers are shaping contemporary Swiss music – with a distinctly feminine touch
Female composers from Switzerland offer a glimpse into music that surprises, inspires and enriches. With works that reinterpret tradition, the focus is also on the future: the festival is premiering a new harp concerto by Katharina Nohl, in collaboration with Maria Bonzanigo and other female composers. Partners such as Universal Edition are supporting the release and boosting the festival’s international appeal. Its nomination for the Swiss Diversity Award underscores its cultural significance. In the ‘Workshop’, visitors can engage directly with the female composers and take a look behind the scenes. Two days packed with concerts, discussions and encounters provide musical sustenance for the journey ahead – impressions that linger, are passed on and broaden horizons.
