As Artist in Residence, Gilles Apap brings with him an extraordinary programme that includes both baroque and modern gems. The evening begins with Vivaldi's impressive Concerto for 4 Violins in B minor, in which Gilles Apap performs the violin solos together with other Camerata musicians. This will be followed by Erik Wüest's "Passacaglia in G minor", a work by the 13-year-old Swiss composer and winner of the last Camerata Zurich composition competition.

The highlight of the programme is probably Tartini's famous "Devil's Trill Sonata", a masterpiece of violin literature known for its technical challenge and expressive intensity. In the second part of the evening, the ensemble dedicates itself to the works of Béla Bartók. "An Evening in the Country" and the "Divertimento for Strings" show Bartók's deep roots in folk music. At the end of the concert, the audience will be treated to a selection of encores, personally selected by Gilles Apap, which will certainly emphasise the versatile talent of this exceptional artist.
