The Explosive Violinist – Ara Malikian’s «Intruso»
A concert show blending classical, jazz, klezmer and Cuban music
The violinist Ara Malikian is the rock star of classical music. Of Armenian descent, raised in Lebanon and trained in Germany and England, he has absorbed a wide variety of musical traditions. Ara Malikian views traditional music through a different lens and uses it to create explosive, fascinating live shows. Together with four musicians from Cuba, he masterfully blends the legacy of Mozart and Bach with jazz, tango, klezmer and Cuban music – demonstrating what unites us all: the language of music.
