Edith Ballantyne, the centenarian pioneer of peace activism, looks back on a life dedicated to peace and wishes to pass on her experiences before her voice is silenced forever. In 1938, at the age of 16, she fled the Sudetenland to Canada to escape the Nazis, where she lived as a refugee under difficult conditions. Through the support of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), she found a new outlook on life – and later her calling. In 1969, she became General Secretary and later President of WILPF, exerting a formative influence on international peace work. Through her close collaboration with the United Nations, her commitment to nuclear disarmament, her consistent integration of feminist perspectives and her work in building global networks, she continues to inspire people worldwide to this day. In *Imagine Peace*, Edith calls one last time for resistance against war, inequality and intolerance. She analyses current conflicts, engages in dialogue with activists such as Shirine Jurdi, Nina Potarska and Madeleine Rees, and recounts a life of struggle – and of hope. Her legacy: peace is possible if we shape it together.
