wet dreams

The streets are empty, cracked and soaked with rain. The air is heavy and thick with smoke and vapour. A faint, flickering light reflects on the wet ground. An incessant pulsing metallic sound permeates the room. Mysterious figures lurk in the shadows. If you look closely, you may glimpse bodies moving through this strange, broken world. Come closer. Do you want to be part of this intoxicating dream?

In wet dreams, four performers dive into the murky currents of togetherness - not just as humans, but as permeable and intertwined bodies of water on a watery planet. Inspired by Hydro-Feminism (Astreida Neimanis) and Pleasure Activism (adrienne maree brown), they explore the threshold spaces between fluidity and friction, desire and care, anger and infectious joy. In doing so, they rethink embodiment, interdependence and resistance.

What if desire and lust are tools for survival? What if anger can be creative? How can we (re)connect to our bodies and to each other - within systems that are geared towards division? How can we exist together in this dystopian chaos? In a world characterised by "racial capitalism "*, wet dreams offers a space to follow our deep longings - to meet and grieve, laugh, love and dream new possibilities together.

*"racial capitalism" refers to an understanding of capitalism that recognises racism not as a side effect, but as a fundamental component of economic power and exploitation - historically interwoven with colonialism and systemic inequality.
