Do we want critical local media?

A round table discussion on the importance of the media for a vibrant society and democracy

Do we want critical local media?

A round table discussion

The regional media hold society together and are critical observers of local politics. However, these media have also been under pressure for years, partly because many local authorities are founding their own publications that are not allowed to report critically. This is detrimental to democracy.

Michael Kaspar, Editor-in-Chief of ZO-Medien AG, Christine Fivian, former Editor-in-Chief of "Zürcher Zürcher Medien AG", discuss the importance of the media for a vibrant society and democracy. Editor-in-Chief of the "Zürcher Unterländer" and author, and Christoph Vollenweider, former Editor-in-Chief of ZO-Medien AG. Editor-in-chief of ZO-Medien AG and programme director of the Lilienberg Entrepreneur Forum. In between, a short reading from C. Fivian's book "Wer zu spät kommt".

A joint event organised by Garage Wetzikon, Zürcher Oberland Medien AG and the bookshop buk, Wetzikon
